Moving Your Stuff
As you load your moving van,
Much to your chagrin,
There’s not enough room left to put all your stuff in!
You hoarded your stuff one piece at a time,
Some of it you only purchased for a dime…
And long ago, its usefulness was in decline!
Sentiment intervened from letting go of your old worn out stuff,
Now standing by your full van you are having a fit,
You are overwhelmed by to much stuff and mad enough to spit!
Calm down, be cool, clever and wise,
With pen and paper it’s time to be smart,
Your old stuff could become compelling hippie art!
Your objective is to engage others to help,
Entice them to move your worn out stuff off your shelves,
Like a small army of eager elves!
Do it now, get going and move your worn-out and useless stuff,
With pencil, paper and an engaging creative mood,
Some scissors, perhaps a saw, a hammer and some clamps,
You too could create compelling-salable Hippie art lamps!
P.S. This poem is a humorous way to encourage you, little by little, to engage the task of moving out to donation or a garage sale, “stuff” no longer essential for your daily needs. The resources article below emphasizes the importance of “downsizing” so as not to burden family or friends with this responsibility. Best of luck in letting go!
