Purpose: A didactic-teacher-like poem for the young and especially the elders!
Living in this minute I realize reality,
Where have all those carefree years gone,
Looking back, I recall the times of fun and games,
Who I was, I ain’t no more!
In my youth I could climb trees with monkey ease,
Swimming joyfully like a fish in the local brook,
Who I was, I ain’t no more!
If I could turn the clock back to my youth-timeline,
I’d love to do it all again,
Who I was, I ain’t no more!
Swiftly all those carefree days of youth are gone,
Time and ongoing change now offers a new fun dawn,
I now fill the my days with elder upbeat songs,
Vicariously I’m a kid again!
Epilogue: Passing time and ongoing change are now the energizing winds of my days.
I realize that life is just a brief song. In my elder years I’m on a different stage.
I no longer can climb trees with monkey ease nor swim swiftly like a fish in a clear water brook. In my elder years I understand that it is futile to sing songs of rage.
Now I find equal joy in swaying merrily in my outdoor, padded, rocking chaise lounge!
Vicariously, I’m a kid again 😊
